CBD basics, why we use it in our natural haircare products, and the benefits.
What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is a compound— which, without getting too scientific, is a molecule that’s created by cannabis plants or cannabis sativa.
THC, the main psychoactive cannabinoid that is usually found in cannabis that gives you the “high” feeling that we all link marijuana to, is actually removed from CBD in the process of production. This means that CBD does not get you high.
We only use Pharmaceutical grade, CBD isolate with 0% THC and hemp seed oil (which is of the same plant family as CBD) in all of our products to make sure you get the full benefits of CBD in your hair care regimen without the high.
What are the benefits of CBD for hair?
Given CBD'S nutritional characteristics, hair experts and people have noticed the following results:
Improved Scalp Health
CBD has high amounts of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and Vitamin E - which are all amazing for the scalp for different reasons. CBD also balances your scalp’s natural creation of oil, (or sebum), CBD helps whether you have a really oily scalp, or whether you have a really dry scalp, it’s the best of both! It also helps to heal a flaky and dry scalp. CBD is a natural, anti-inflammatory (inflammation of the scalp is caused by infection, irritation, or an allergic reaction that happens on the skin. Inflammation is the body’s way of correcting problems).
Enhancing Hair Growth
CBD is made up of nutrients that boosts hair growth, through the scalp’s consumption of fatty acids such as Omega-3,6 and 9. All of which promote healthy, natural hair growth.
Have you ever been recommended to do a protein treatment by your hairdresser or natural hair influencer? Chances are they recommended a protein treatment for you because your hair was going through it with broken or weak hair. CBD has 21 amino acids, which are the ingredients for protein. When used regularly and with the right hair texture, it can really help strengthen and take care of your hair. CBD is filled with fatty acids that give moisture and secures the cuticle. CBD being rich in antioxidants such as Vitamin A, C and E saves your hair from environmental damage.
What type of CBD is used in our products?
CBD isolate is a crystalline solid or solid powder that’s made up of CBD in its purest form. It is basically 99% CBD and 0% THC. CBD isolate is special because it is pure CBD, meaning it is highly potent which is great news for your hair!
